Up and close trail, but very rocky!! Could see the salmon swimming upstream
This is not one of top hikes in Chugach State Park. The trail is in the valley for about 4 miles with limited views of the surrounding mountains. The thick vegetation makes a bear encounter more likely.
Excellent bike trail and pavilions with bathrooms. Views spectacular. Only major issue is does not connect to Anchorage gotta ride on the highway. Not a fun part of what is excellent trail takes you rite into girdy..JW23 50 plus year Alyeska Skiier 1970
Fun place to watch salmon run since the creek is pretty steep, strong, and rocky, so you can really see the salmons in action. Come around high tides for more fish, we came at the end of high tide and only saw around 10, probably the weaker ones that were left behind
