Tok River State Recreation Site has a 4.4 aggregate rating based on 54 reviews. Ten individual reviews are provided, with ratings of 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 4, 3, 5, 4, and 5. Reviewers describe the site as a small, clean campground located about 5 miles from Tok, Alaska, along the Tok River. Several mention it is suitable for a one-night stopover, offering dry camping with pull-in and pull-through sites, picnic tables, fire pits, clean outhouses/vault facilities and restrooms, and trash availability. Some note a short hiking/walking area near the river, with one reviewer mentioning it is enough for pet relief. The $18–$20 fee for dry camping is mentioned as a reasonable option compared to in-town rates. Common criticisms include proximity to the highway, which results in traffic noise, and campsites being close together with limited privacy between pull-through sites. One reviewer noted the site map at the entrance was out of date, and another mentioned the park was busy midweek. Positive remarks highlight the beautiful riverside setting, cleanliness of facilities, and general suitability for an overnight stay.

Easy access off the main highway, but that means lots of traffic noise. Nice river access, might be a good place to float from. Little short hiking area (enough for pet relief). Short distance to Tok.

Tok River State Recreation Site is a smaller public campground around 5 miles south of Tok. This campground offers dry camping only but there are clean vault facilities available. Great for a one night stop over

5 miles east of Tok close to the highway. Clean. Nice spot to overnight on your way on the Alcan. Close to highway so there is some traffic noise. Tok River flows right next to camp sites worth the $20 for an intermediate stop

Love this campground right on the Tok. It is mostly empty with tent sites right on the Tok River and a lot of pull-in sites for campers. Each site has a picnic table and a place for a fire. There are clean outhouses. The site is $18 a …

Site map at park entrance is out of date. We stayed 1 night at site 23 which is the first pull thru site as you come around the one way loop to the five pull thru sites. It is near the ALCAN so u do hear truck noise. Rest of park was full. Lucky we needed a long site and this was the last one available!

The sites are close together and the pull through sites do not have anything in-between them. It was clean but the road noise might bother some. Not typical of Northern parks in AK. Most parks have some privacy between sites. Busy midweek.

A small camp area along the river. Quite close to the highway, but vehicle traffic died down so did not disrupt sleep. $20 US for dry camping - it’s a good option compared to close to $47 in town for electric only.
