I had so much fun, it is a beautiful place with a lot of peace. The bad; I saw people walking their dogs without leash and some did not pick up the poop. Other than that the forest is quiet and walkable. The only thing that worries me is that hunting is permitted and I heard many gun shoots during my hike.
Beautiful gorge trail, could use some log clearing and minor veg trimming to reduce tick/trail blockage issues, some trail erosion and desire line issues. State should invest some additional funds here - likely can source it from fishing access enhancement funds.
We tried to hike up to Toby’s Rock Mountain and the overlook on the orange and purple trails but couldn’t find the trail head from the Spruce Brook Road parking lot. Storm damage from tropical storm Isaias was not yet cleared. …
Great forest to visit when your in Connecticut. There isn't an official parking lot but there are pockets of lots you can go to and leave your car. Many different trails to try out and the views are beautiful. Just make sure to put in bug …
Always a great hike, no matter the season. Some parts for younger children may be tough, but doable. The trail is still a little icy, find a walking stick on your way in!
Very nice park with some great trails and views for the family. We really enjoyed our time in nature out there.
These CT trails are really fun and have very different levels of hiking. Great scenic viewing spots along trails. A lot of fun for all ages.
This was an amazing hike - I think it was the Spruce trail - that ran the length of river. Several medium to small waterfalls, trail was challenging in a few places but manageable.
This park is beautiful and a gem in this area! The Spring Brook is lovely. Trails are nice though not “easy,” so be prepared.
