Glacier Access has an aggregate rating of 4.6 out of 5, based on 116 reviews. Reviewers frequently describe the glacier tour as a "must-see" or "must-do" adventure. Guides are repeatedly praised for being knowledgeable, friendly, and informative; specific guides mentioned by name include Melissa, Tommy, and Mikey. Reviews note the experience is somewhat physically demanding, with one reviewer recording 10,000 steps and 72 flights of stairs on a FitBit, and advise dressing warmly and bringing heated clothing, toe warmers, and hand warmers. The tour is described as great for kids and families, with impressive views and photography opportunities. Total trip duration is mentioned as about 1.5 to 2 hours. One reviewer recommends bringing your own hiking poles, noting that glacier cleats are provided. One negative review (1 star) states that the glacier is not accessible by car as described online, and warns against driving there expecting an easy, accessible tourist experience, particularly for a handicapped individual.

Our group opted for the shorter side-by-side tour. Our guide, Tommy, was fun and shared lots of information about the Matanuska Glacier. Would highly recommend him as a guide! We enjoyed seeing the glacier, learning about the ice, the ride he provided and his photography skills!

Totally worth it! Bring your own hiking poles bc they only offer them if you're disabled? I had my own in my bag. They provide the Glacier cleats

OMG! This is a MUST DO... Do not leave AK without doing this tour. It is amazing. My tour guide (Mikey) was knowledgeable and friendly. The drive alone from Anchorage is itself worth it.
