Several reviewers specifically highlight the Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast as comfortable, clean, quiet, and cozy, though one review notes that an air conditioning unit was noisy and another mentions that the beds have squeaky wheels. Reviewers also note that the park is kid-friendly, but adults may enjoy it more, and that the entire town is walkable. One review describes the town's history as a former county seat that became a ghost town after the railroad moved the seat to Hope.
Wonderful experience exploring historic buildings and dining at the café. Our tour guide, Stephanie, had a real artistic eye and was very helpful in explaining the architectural styles, and pointing out the period textiles from the era, and …
Great place to visit. Step back into time and learn about our history. Great festival every year. Jonquil Festival in March every year.
Great experience except for air conditioning unit making enough noise to wake my wife and I several times. Jailhouse B&B was very good otherwise. Had fun with our group (12 total) and plenty of room to sit and talk, play games.
Wonderful place to visit. Definitely something for a history buff. Take the tours of the buildings, very interesting. The Jail B&B is awesome! It is comfortable, quiet and clean. Williams Tavern is a great place to eat on site, although limited hours. While the park is kid friendly, adults would probably enjoy it more.
Awesome place! Staff fantastic! Carriage ride wonderful and guide was great!
Wonderful experience. The entire town is walkable. Each location has individuals dressed in the time period, explaining how life was in the 1800's. We stayed at the local jail, turned into a B and B. Excellent accommodations. The jonquil festival is the best!
This was a really cool experience learning about the old historic town of Washington. This town used to be the county seat until the railroad and other changes essentially made it a ghost town, and the county seat moved to Hope. Lots of neat history here.
This place was awesome. I had the most fun I think. They offer tours of the different buildings and it was the coolest thing to go through and see. We did not have time to stay the whole day so we missed parts of the tours. But we will …
Great place filled with friendly folks and tons of history. My wife and I stayed in the Jailhouse B&B, which was very cozy. Mind the beds, though. They have wheels and are a bit squeaky, lol. We will definitely visit again.
