Nice easy hike to the overlook beautiful view of the Kings River. Just for warned I wouldn’t have always taken a car down the road that gets you to the parking area. We had a Toyota RAV4 and it did fine, but there were some sketchy spots.

Multiple reviewers highlight the beautiful and amazing views of the Kings River from the overlook. Access to the trailhead is a common topic. Several reviewers note that reaching the parking area requires driving down rough, narrow gravel and dirt roads. Some mention that a vehicle with higher clearance or four-wheel drive is nearly necessary, though one reviewer reported that a Toyota RAV4 handled the road fine. Safety is mentioned by a few reviewers, who advise being careful near the cliff edges as there is no safety rail around the lookout. One reviewer specifically warns about bringing young children for this reason. Additional positive observations include the trail being quiet, clean, and free of trash and graffiti. One reviewer mentions a cave to the left and a waterfall to the right partway to the lookout. Another notes that there are no facilities and cell coverage is spotty. Some reviewers also commented on the lack of restrooms.
I always love coming out to this spot. It’s down some dirt roads and the end of the road where the parking is can get a tad rough during wash outs in the rainy season. Short hiking distance and time. Always worth it! Beautiful view. Plenty of cliff side rocks to picnic on.
Very short flat easy hike. Quiet. No trash. No graffiti. Had it completely to myself on a Sunday afternoon in early September. Good spot to eat lunch or read a book or take a nap if you are in the neighborhood.
An easy 1.2 mile in hike, relatively flat trail that's well maintained. Views are amazing, but be careful not to get too close to the edges. …
This is a nice place to hang out. It is a short hike from the parking area. If you don't want a go down the gulch, please take the trail by the gate (if you take this trail, this is an easy hike). If a person takes the trail right behind …
Very easy trail... takes about 15min off of paved road to get to the parking spot, then just follow the signs for the trail. Wonderful picnic spot!
Easy walking trail to overlook. Nice view of Kings river. Careful bringing young chuldren. There is not a safety rail around the lookout. Rough, narrow, gravel and dirt road. Decent sized parking spot, no facilities and spotty cell coverage.
This place is amazing. Easy short hike. Half way to the lookout is a cave to the left and a waterfall to the right. Beautiful views!
It’s worth it but you will drive seven miles of rough gravel roads. You almost need 4wd. The hike itself is easy, the view was amazing
Gorgeous overlook. The trail itself is short and easy. Do not expect solitude. Because of it's easy nature and picturesque overlook, you will get all sorts. Some loud, some drinking, lots of dogs, etc. …
