We did not do the actual trail. This review is for the Hickory Nut overlook at Ouachita Vista!! It is a must see if you are anywhere in the area. We stayed in Hot Springs and drove about 45 min over to see this place. It was beautiful!! …

It's great if you just want to watch the water go by but don't try to fish here! The moss is so thick that is all you'll catch. The pictures I am adding will show the money wasted to build this dock and bring in all those rocks just to 1. …
Water was clear and cold. Bathrooms and showers where clean and great , especially for a public restroom and shower. …
We parked along the road, no one else was parked here, but didn't want to park down the way in the lot. It was early March about 45 degrees F (chilly), but was a nice day. Early spring, so not to much in the way of new growth, still a nice hike.
This was the best part of my trip. I couldn't add the place in Google, however there's a vista at the end of this trail which has a 180 degree view of the lake Ouachita. Just breathtaking..This is a must visit.
Perfect hiking experience. It was really hard to find the entry though, after parking your car, you need to walk back a little, don’t worry the trail is right there 😄. Honestly I suggest going off track a bit (without loosing the way of …
Great trail and great views. Be mindful of snakes as you would on any hiking trail.
Really lovely hike with a nice view over the reservoir! The trail is a bit unkept with fallen logs blocking some of the path and is relatively narrow, but there isn’t much foot traffic so it’s not a problem.
I backpacked the LOViT Trail traveling Eastbound. It's really well laid out except for the very beginning near Shangri-La. It seems that there was a lot of construction going on and the trail was confusing here. Other than that, the trail was perfect. It took 2 days to finish the thru hike.
This trail is wonderful! The views are gorgeous. There's parking at the trailhead. Although we went for hiking, the trail looks just about perfect for mountain bikers. It's only a short drive from Hot Springs so driving there is a good trip. We went on Thursday and we didn't see a single other person on the trail.
