Fantastic park! The road was still closed as of 5/17. The views were amazing and still had some hiking trails you could explore. I would wait until June to visit due to the snow, but it’s always fun visiting a park without many other guests.
The pass road to drive through the park just open and there is a lot of snow on top on June 2nd. Bumpass Hell trail was closed unfortunately because of ice on the trail. But Helen lake and Emerald lake were covered in a thin sheet of ice and snow which was beautiful. We enjoyed our visit.
We saw a lot of snow in July 2025. It’s amazing how the weather and nature can change depending on the southern and northern parts of the park. Highly recommend to visit!
Wonderful drive & scenery.
Finally made it and no one was there at the sign. Didn't get a chance to visit the park but it's beauty is still mesmerizing even with the fire 2 years ago. Stay safe Lassen I need to see you again..
Park is closed due to snow but the visitor center is open year-round. You can park at the visitor center and walk into the park. Really amazing experience.

A must visit place Amazing scenic locations along the way
This was our first time in Lassen Volcanic National Park. We visited in mid-October during the government shutdown.
Although the road was closed beyond the visitors center, there was a ton of folk there. The Rangers were super nice and very informative.
