What a horrible experience. We stayed at this campground about 10 years ago but have had problems using the Government website since the weekends always show that they are full. We decided to try our luck and came up and it was 75% …
Peaceful and everyone was very respectful at this camp site. No trash left around. Lake was stunning. Hiking trails were limited compared to other places but still fun. It does get cold here and winter ends in June so be prepared.
This campground is in a great location (within the national park and by a lake) and had no mosquitoes, which was great. The campsites were fairly small and close together, but the amenities were terrible. There were lights in the bathrooms …
I tent camped there, but the cabins sure looked nice! The campground bathrooms, however, were very dirty. Use the restrooms at the campstore, instead. They were clean and plumbed with flushing toilets. Reports were that the showers only had cold water, so needless to say, I didn't shower.
The only thing missing here is WiFi / cell service and hookups. Everything else about the campground was great. Clean and frequent bathrooms / garbage cans, and a lot of people having a good time! Loved the proximity to the lake trail!
My wife and I stayed there, October 16th and 17th During the government shut down. When we got to the gate, there was no way to pay so we proceeded to the campground. Went through loop B and found a site and set up and didn’t go over to see …
We had a 3 night reservation in mid-October. We decided to cancel our reservation a few days before the free cancellation date due to the government shut down. We didn’t know whether the campground will be open and there was no update on …
Had site A 22. Pull through not level. Front of site slopes down so had to park further back and still needed leveling blocks for side to side. One way entrance so picnic table and fire ring on driver's side not very convenient. Tight roads …
Large and well-kept campground, good base for exploring Lassen Park. Just heads up that some sites are quite close to one another with no privacy, so try to book early to get a more private spot. Also recommend walking the trail around the lake for some unreal views!
