This was a nice experience. The history of the consolidation of kingdoms of the islands. A spiritual place. The NP employee was extremely gracious and helpful. The displays were beyond plentiful. There were artifacts outside in the back. Spears, large drawings, paintings, maps, depictions etc

One of the nicest visitor centers I have seen. Extremely informative and interesting Hawaiian history. Short, paved walkway with great views of the fort and bay.

Probably the most interesting National Historic Site we visited on Hawai'i. We started at the visitor center and watched a very interesting and well-made documentary about King Kamehamea I. This State Park is a must-see when visiting Big Island.

I really enjoyed visiting here. The videos give alot of good history that really helps your understand and enjoy the Island even more. The area where videos are played and artifacts are displayed is shaded, the path is not. It's a fairly easy trek. My kids had no problem with it. Definitely worth checking out.
