Wonderful beach for sunrise photos. Lots of driftwood giving you a place to sit, to take in the view. Maybe not the best beach to spend the day, plus limited street side parking still worth a visit. We even caught a double rainbow behind us, looking through to the mountains.
First time in Hawaii, we found this place the second day and I have to say it was extremely beautiful. We really loved it and recommend checking it out. The views are amazing.
This beach is super nice and the sand is very soft. It wasn't very crowded when I went and the water had that nice light blue color to it. Definitely worth checking out if you want to dip your toes in the sand.

Hidden gem
Lots of drift wood on the beach. No reef, so water entry seems reasonably safe. A common launching spot for kite surfers, so good for those and for people who want to watch them fly off the big waves.
This is a difficult turn out from the road bit much worth the effort. This beach is rarely busy and is at the Wilua river outlet at the the of the bridge. Here is a great place to search for drift wood. I have some great finds displayed in my Princeville home from this very place. Great for carving or display of your island collections.
Great place for photo shoots
Named after Bill Lydgate it's the older bigger park and another section called the Kamalani bridge with another big pavilion with camping areas that needs a camping permit through the county and a bike path.
